The hardships and afflictions of the pilgrimage at last behind them, the pilgrims finally arrive at Beulah, that land on the verge of the River of Death in which the sweetness of our engagement to be the Lord’s is never so much enjoyed. It is that time on one’s ‘death-bed’ when heaven is so near that you can almost hear the angels sing and feel the warmth of heaven’s radiance. The bliss enjoyed in Beulah is an equipping grace in order to cross the River of Death. May God bring us all to Beulah where we might be sure of our fitness to meet Him.
